The time we went to the Gisela Warte

A few weeks ago, Markus and I decided to go out and take a walk. He decided to take us to a place we’d never been – together or on our own. How it was? Check below!

Before actually getting to the Gis, as they call it here, you have to walk up a hill. This seems fairly easy, but I’ve been having some problems walking lately, so it took us twice as long, with some stops. But I did it! Also, during the stops I got to make new friends and obviously we stopped so I could pet them!

The view was also amazing! You’re way up the hill and even if you’re still technically in Linz, you’re in the countryside, so everything was peaceful and beautiful.

When you get to the top of the hill, you finally see the Gisela Warte:

It was built in honour of Gisela, the doctor of the emperor Franz Josef and his wife Elizabeth, also known as Sissi. You can get up the stairs and see the view from above, which I couldn’t do because my leg was hurting so much.

I sat on a bank beside the Gisela Warte, while Markus went up and took some pictures. I also had this view to keep me company:

Even though it was hard for me to walk all the way up, I was super proud that I did it! And we got amazing pictures, which is always good to keep the memories: we have an album where we put our favourite photographs to remember the times we took them!

If you’re ever in Linz and fancy going on a walk, there’s actually walking paths to go to the Warte, most of them through the woods. It’s something I’d love to do, once I get better! It’s also very peaceful and calm – perfect environment in my opinion!

Let me know what you think!

My favorite photographs always involve animals haha! They were so sweet and just wanted to be pet…except one of the goats who was very offended I didn’t have anything for her to eat!

Oooh that looks so lovely. I just love going to places like these. It’s so refreshing to take a break into the nature and enjoy some time with animals 🙂
