Body Shape Series: Jeans for the pear shaped woman!

Hey hey everyone!

Today we will be talking about jeans, but not just any kind of jeans, we’ll be talking about jeans for the pear-shaped woman! If you don’t know your body shape go check out this post I wrote last year about body shapes and if you still have doubts don’t hesitate to send me an e-mail!

Just to remember, pear shaped woman have wider hips and thighs and a bigger bottom, while the upper part of their bodies is smaller and narrower. Meaning they are bigger in the lower half of their bodies.

What jeans are concerned I think one of the main goal is definitely comfort. But having that said, there are some guidelines you can follow to look like a bombshell!
The first thing you need to think about is the rise of the jeans. They should be at least mid-rise so that they will cover your bootie and hug your hips. They should also be the right size. Not a size too big and not a size too small just because you want the tag to show something different. Size matters!!! (in what clothes are concerned it does!)

The most flattering cuts of jeans for the pear shaped woman are the Boot-cut and the straight leg. Because they will create a line from your hips down, making them look smaller. That doesn’t mean you can’t wear skinny jeans!! But if you go for a skinny jean try to go for one that has a mid-rise and isn’t too skinny in your ankles.

The pockets are also important and they shouldn’t be too small because that will make your bum look bigger. Instead, try to go for medium sized pockets with the least detailing you can find!! The same goes for details on the hips, stay clear from those, they will draw attention to the widest part of your body.
Concerning colors, if you want to appear slimmer you should go for a darker wash, but if you just want to have some jeans that will flatter your body without disguising anything then you can go for a normal wash.
Jeans are a staple in most women all over the world, but they are also one of the hardest pieces to shop for! Don’t stress, take a whole day and try on as many pairs as you can!! The same cut of jeans is different in every brand and so will the fit.

If you really can’t find a pair that suits you, try going to the Levi’s store and get yourself measured for their curve jeans. They are pricey, but also very good quality. I have a pair of demi curve jeans and really like them!

I hope this post was useful to you and if you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact me!

Have a great week!

This is very helpful! I myself am a pear shape and I always find that my jeans gap in the waist in order for them to be good at my hips!! I loved this post Rosie! Kisses***

Great post ! I am pretty thin but I am a pear shape, my bottom is pretty “full” and some kind of jeans, especially very low rise, look bad on me. I prefer mid or even high waist, absolutely ! I love skinny jeans but as you suggested, there are some designs that look better than others 🙂 Kisses

I think mid-rise is the best choice for any kind of jeans! High waisted look good, but only if you're tall… =D
