In all truth, it’s the only steak I’ve tried in Linz. But so far it definitely is the best steak I have ever had! In January Markus and I went on a double date with my friend R, and her boyfriend. It was my first ever double date and I had the time of my life! Let’s just say, we stayed there after hours.
We went to a restaurant called Fischerhäusl, near the Rathaus. It’s one of our favourite restaurants in town and the service and food are always the best I’ve had. The owner of the restaurant is a very nice young guy, who took it over from the previous owners. He values good quality and good service and that’s something you can see when you’re there.
The steak was over 1kg heavy and is for two people and each person could choose 3 sides. I went for the potato wedges with dip, mixed veggies and “Kräuterbutter” – which is butter with seasoning. Markus went for the potato the oven, pepper sauce and corn. He then said that my choices were better 🙂
This steak was so so so soft and tasty and good! Perfectly medium rare and a lot of lean meat. It cost a total of 60€, which I also think is a bit on the pricey side. However, once I tried it, I came to the conclusion that it is worth the money.
The good thing about this restaurant, in our opinion, is that is sells seasonal food. All the food is from Austria and most of it is bio. They try as much as they can to have regional food, from Upper Austria. It’s somewhat pricey, but at least you know that you’re getting good quality food. And it’s not a place where we go everyday or every month.
If you are ever in Linz and want to go somewhere with good food, I can highly suggest this restaurant. I promise it won’t disappoint!
And if you’ve ever gone there, I’d love to know what you thought!
